Honors College Application for Current CSU Students

Students who are already enrolled at CSU should complete the form on this page to apply to the Honors College. Current CSU students should submit their applications during the spring semester for consideration for the upcoming fall semester cohort. In addition to completing the form on this page, current CSU students are required to submit a personal statement and at least two (2) letters of recommendation. Information on those application materials is below the form.

The final deadline for all completed applications to the Honors College from current CSU students is June 1.

Personal Statement

As part of the Honors College application process, you must complete a personal statement of approximately 500 words. You should explain any significant reason and/or personal experiences that prepared you for the Chicago State University Honors College. You can also include significant past accomplishments and important educational goals and career plans you would like to achieve. Your personal statement should also illustrate your writing and organizational skills as well as your estimation of your potential for intellectual and personal growth.

Letters of Recommendation

As part of the Honors College application process, you must submit at least two (2) letters of recommendation, with preferably at least one coming from a CSU professor. Letters of recommendation cannot be from a family member. Your letters should discuss your academic preparation and potential for success in the Honors College, as well as any additional information your letter writers would like to present explaining why you would be a good candidate for admission into the Honors College.
